Léon Breitling was a son of German parents who had moved to Switzerland in search of work. In 1884, when he was only 24 years old, he manufactured the first counter chronograph on his own - the birth of Breitling in Saint-Imier. In 1892, the manufacture moves to La Chaux-de-Fonds. Breitling's subsequent success story speaks volumes and it is impossible to imagine the luxury watch segment without it.
