The traditional watch company was founded in 1883 in Le Sentier by Antoine LeCoultre. The ingenious inventor left his mark on Jaeger-LeCoultre and the history of watchmaking. Iconic creations such as the Reverso, developed in 1931 for polo players, can be attributed to him. The unique Atmos pendulum clock, with its apparent perpetual motion, also stems from his mind. Jaeger-LeCoultre continues its ceaseless quest for innovation entirely in the great tradition of the art of watchmaking.

Reverso.
Jaeger LeCoultre's rotating Reverso watch was invented in 1931 for British officers in India. These wanted watches that could withstand the force of any shocks during polo matches. Thus, a watch with a "twist" was developed: a steel case that could slide on a support and rotate completely. This allowed the sensitive glass to disappear inward at dangerous moments.
However, the Reverso was soon regarded less as a sports watch than as an Art Deco classic of the purest stamp. Today it is one of the great icons of the watchmaker's art and is produced in numerous variants.

Memovox.
In 1951, the first Wristwatch with alarm under the name Memovox went down in history as the first automatic model with an Wake-up function. The separate power supply for time and alarm function ensured that the power reserve of the watch was not reduced by a triggering of the alarm. Hence also the, especially for the time, distinctive two crowns.
